The Log Cabin Police Department strives to provide the highest quality police service, which requires citizen involvement to identify and help solve problems within the community. The Log Cabin Police Department provides professional, knowledgeable, and focused law enforcement services to ensure the safety and well-being of all people, while promoting individual responsibility and community commitment.

Our officers work with compassion and respect as we assist crime victims and form partnerships to organize strategies—which reduce crime, the fear of crime and improve the quality of life. Sam Commino

Chief

Chief Commino is a 10-year veteran of Law Enforcement, he began his career in 2012 with the City of Caney City, Texas Police Department and has served in the City of Log Cabin since 2015. He has served in every capacity from patrolman to Chief of Police.

Raleigh Dow

Lieutenant

Lieutenant Dow is an 18-year veteran of Law Enforcement. He began his career in 1992 with the City of Vidor, Texas Police Department, Texas and working with the cities of Orange County, Rose City, Caney City, and joining the City of Log Cabin Police Department in 2020.

Jacob Wilson

Patrol Officer

Officer Wilson is a recent graduate of the Navarro Police Academy. He previously worked as a jailer for the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office. Jacob is a dedicated and hard-working individual who is passionate about serving his community.

Shawn Faison

Patrol Officer

Officer Faison recently joined the Log Cabin Police Department. He graduated from Tyler Junior College Police Academy, and previously worked as an officer with the University of Texas at Tyler Police Department. Prior to beginning his police career, he served in the U.S. Army for 9 years.
