Log Cabin Christmas & Market 2024

Holiday Celebration on Saturday, December 14th, 2024

The Parks Committee is pleased to help kick start the holiday season with Log Cabin Christmas & Market on Saturday, Dec. 14th, 2024 at the Red Barn. This year this holiday event will feature a Christmas Market with local vendors from 9am to 5pm, including food trucks! Dippin' Dots Ice Cream will also be available for sale. Come get a picture with Santa and the Grinch, then decorate your own cookie and/or ornament, and play games. Attendees will also get the chance to vote in the Yard Decorating Contest! This event is open to everyone! Hope to see you there!


Vendor booths and food truck space is available. Please email parks@logcabin.texas.gov for more information.


Those that wish to enter the yard decorating contest should register their yard by emailing parks@logcabin.texas.gov or by contacting City Hall, on or before December 5th.
 

Votes for the best yard can be cast at City Hall December 9th-17th or at the Log Cabin Christmas event on Saturday, Dec. 14th, 2024, and the winner will be announced & awarded at the December Regular City Council Meeting on Thursday, Dec. 19th, 2024 at 7pm!

There will be a water service disruption/outage planned for July 23 rd , beginning at midnight. The outage is expected to last for 7 hours. As a precaution, a boil water notice is being issued effective July 23 rd at midnight and will be lifted as soon as possible.

The Log Cabin City Council announced the vacant seat on the City Council on May 13th, 2025 at a special Council meeting to canvass the May 3rd, 2025 General and Special Election, with no candidate having filed for the unexpired 1-year term during the candidate filing period in January. Two individuals stepped forward expressing interest in the Council seat, but one withdrew their application. The City Council interviewed Rick Robertson at a Council Workshop on June 4th, 2025, and appointed him at the Regular Council meeting on June 19th, 2025 to the City Council vacant seat, term ending May 2026. Rick Robertson received his Certificate of Appointment and was sworn in that night and assumed his duties.

The Log Cabin City Council announced the vacant seats on the Council and Planning & Zoning Commission (P&Z) on August 8th, 2024, at a special Council meeting, after accepting the resignation of Teena Linder from City Council and the P&Z. Interested persons for either seat was asked to reach out to the City. Two individuals stepped forward expressing interest in the Council seat; Chris Martin and Paul Eckeberger. Three people volunteered for the P&Z seat; Chris Martin, Joe Clark, and Dave Peterson. At the October 3rd, 2024 Special City Council meeting, the City Council appointed Paul Eckeberger to the City Council vacant seat, term ending May 2025, and accepted the P&Z's nomination for Dave Peterson to fill the Commission's vacant seat via Resolution 24-15. Paul Eckeberger received his Certificate of Appointment and was sworn in at the October 17th, 2024 Regular City Council Meeting, and submitted a resignation letter from the Planning and Zoning Commission. Council appointed Joe Clark to fill the vacancy created by Mr. Eckeberger's resignation on the Planning and Zoning Commission via Resolution 24-19.
