Fireworks in Log Cabin

June 28, 2023

Discharge of fireworks is prohibited, with limited exception

A person is holding a sign that says happy 4th of july.

As we all get ready to celebrate our nation's Independence Day, it is important to remembering that the discharge of fireworks is prohibited by Ordinance 7 and may result in fines. There is an exception to this however!

Each year, City Council may, by Resolution, opt to allow fireworks to be discharged under the supervision of the Log Cabin Police and Volunteer Fire Department. Sign up, agreement of terms, and inspection of fireworks is required. Space is limited and all participants are expected to clean up after themselves.

After the participant discharge window, the City will host a fire works show!

We hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday!! Happy Independence Day!

In leu of construction starting this evening on the water lines, we will issue a boil water notice until samples pass, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system City of Log Cabin Water Company PWS ID #TX 1070121 to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice. If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Jeremy Crocker at 903-489- 2195.
